"Scavenger hunt at the oldest neighbourhood of Athens" is a family educational program that aims to familiarize the participants with the history and culture of the most beautiful and traditional place of Athens. Families with children will have the opportunity to collaborate, play,exchange experiences and opinions with other families and explore the secrets of the oldest place in contemporary Athens.
Glafka, the ancient Greek name of the owl, symbol of ancient goddess Athena, sends a message to children in order to help her find the way back home to ancient Athens. She is lost in time and she desperate needs help to travel back in ancient times. She is trapped somewhere in contemporary Athens. Children must find her and recite the ancient spell in order Athena, the ancient goddess, hear them and take her back to ancient times.
Families with children will walk through Plaka, discover ancient, byzantine and contemporary monuments and find clues to guide them to a 12th century Christiane temple that is full of stone archaeological elements of ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine times.

Congregation of participants at the meeting point (at the top of the stairs of Acropolis Museum entrance).
