    Which one of these objects are magnetic? How can I make an art robot? Is it possible to measure volume? What is an air powered balloon car? What if I sort toys and make a graph?

    These are some of the questions that will find their answer through the specially designed 3-6 years-old activities in the Science LabFamilior Curiosity Box. Specific science skills will be developed, such as observation, measuring, investigation, sorting and graphing for the future scientists.

    Each box contains all the materials needed for the activities, books and items that will unlock the secrets of science and will motivate much more gameplay.

    Children together with the educator will be able to work with up to five different activity groups, according to their interests and their wishes.

    pp1Making fun observations

    Observation -along with the experiment- is one of the scientific methods used by researchers to draw conclusions in the course of a research. For children observation, as the starting point of knowledge, is a very important process. Children exercised in the observational process, manage to gather enough information and describe in a complete way what they are investigating.

    Through “Making fun observations” group of activities, children will use experimental tools, observe the properties of magnetic objects, experiment with gravity and density, build an art robot, use their acoustic abilities and discover that water is “walking”.

    pp1Have Fun with Measuring

    The introduction of experiment into research required its quantitative study. The quantitative study is based on data obtained from measurements and expressed in numbers. Children should be exercised with measurement methods to understand the surrounding environment, to interpret the results of their activities and to use them in their everyday life.

    Through “Have Fun with Measuring” group of activities, children along with our trained babysitterwill explore volume, balance candies, make measuring experiments with toys and blocks, understand the concept of temperature and use a catapult for measuring distances.

    pp1Let’s Make Questions! (The basic element of scientific research)

    Questions, hypothesis, experimentations and interpretation of conclusions are the basic elements of scientific research. All children have crazy questions. These questions can be the starting point for endless play and the occasion for starting a research process.

    Through the “Let’s Make Questions” group of activities, children along with our trained babysitter will explore the basic relationship between Sun, Moon and Earth, set a science lab along with its scientific tools, make tons of hypothesis and apply the results of their experiments, discover whether it is possible to build a space with folded paper and will create rainbows mixing colors and soap.

    pp1Fun Sorting Center

    Classification of similar objects is a fundamental process for science that helps to bring in order a scientific research. Grouping helps to discover the properties of objects. Children should develop sorting and classifying skills to understand that sorting is needed to everyday life, to describe the objects which they group and to identify sorting in their surrounding environment.

    Through the “Fun Sorting Center” group of activities, children along with our trained babysitter will set a sorting center trying to discover why classification is necessary. Children will sort and classify things by color, size, and shape. They will create sorting rules and they will sort beads, buttons, letters, numbers, and materials. Finally, children will do tangram games using shapes.

    pp1Graphing…everything

    Graphic renders visually a function by directly giving the information we need. Children should learn how to use graphs and tables in order to organize their environment and select information directly.

    How can a bowling game be graphed? Is it possible to graph my games? Let’s graph a room! Can I make a graph out of button?

    Through the “Graphing…everything” group of activities, children along with our trained babysitter will graph the results of a bowling game, mean of transport games, a room and buttons.
